The Sus Road bio-CNG project was being opposed by the locals. In this context, it was decided to move the project to Chande-Nande village during a recent meeting held in the deputy chief minister’s office. As directed by Pune district guardian minister Ajit Pawar, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will shortly receive more land for solid waste disposal at Chande-Nande village.
Officials stated that the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) now possesses the land. The Sus Road bio-CNG project was being opposed by the locals. It was decided to move the project to Chande-Nande village during a meeting that was recently conducted in the deputy chief minister’s office, the PMC is going to receive the land in Mulshi taluka from the state government, stated Additional Municipal Commissioner Vikas Dhakne. The PMC plans to move the project to the new location after this land is turned over this month (January).
Leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Medha Kulkarni, is following up with the state government and PMC over the matter.
