Billionaire Mukesh Ambani asked Reliance Industries Ltd. staff members to speed up the AI transformation of all company divisions by 2024 as the oil-to-retail company looks to maintain its lead over competitors in implementing cutting-edge technology. At a function honouring the 91st birthday of the late founder of the firm, Dhirubhai Ambani, the richest man in Asia stated to Reliance staff on Thursday, “We need to be at the forefront of using data, with AI as an enabler for achieving a quantum jump in productivity and efficiency.” According to Ambani, this will enable the business to take the lead in addressing “India’s urgent national priorities in education, healthcare, agriculture, and employment generation.”

Dependency At an event this week, Akash Ambani, the tycoon’s elder son, announced that Jio Infocomm Ltd. and the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay are collaborating to build “Bharat GPT,” a big language model that will be customised to the needs of Indian consumers. The group’s chief executive officer, Akash, also revealed that Reliance intends to incorporate AI into all business operations. Reliance is currently pushing into digital commerce in an effort to become a digital behemoth. Like Reliance, the Adani Group is trying more and more to expand into digital services.
