In a tragic incident, Pimpri Chinchwad police have arrested 6 individuals in connection with the murder of a 38-year-old painter, Bhuval Maurya, following a financial dispute.
The accused, identified as Shubham Walhekar, Kunal Bharam, Saurabh Waghmare, Sagar Jadhav, Akshay Patil, and Dinesh Mhaske, allegedly took drastic measures after Maurya failed to repay money owed for painting work. The incident unfolded when the painter’s body was discovered at New Thergaon hospital, with the perpetrators having fled the scene.
The investigation, led by senior police inspector Ganesh Jawadwad, unveiled a disturbing sequence of events.
The autorickshaw driver, Dinesh Mhaske, implicated in the crime, revealed that a financial dispute between Shubham Walhekar and Maurya led to a violent confrontation. Reportedly, Walhekar and his accomplices tied and severely beat the painter, rendering him unconscious. The assailants then transported Maurya’s lifeless body to the hospital in an autorickshaw before making their escape.
The accused were presented before the court, which, based on a press release by DCP (zone 2) Bapu Bangar, remanded them to police custody for seven days for further investigation. The heartbreaking incident sheds light on the consequences of unresolved financial disputes, culminating in a grim tragedy for the victim and the arrest of those allegedly responsible for his untimely demise.
