Recently reshuffling of senior police officers took place in Maharashtra, where IPS officer Amitesh Kumar, recognized for his commendable service, is appointed as the new Commissioner of Police in Pune.
A seasoned officer with a watchable career, in which Mr. Kumar brings experience from his tenure as the longest-serving Commissioner of Police in Nagpur. Holding degrees in economics and law, including cyber law, Kumar’s distinguished career includes roles such as Deputy Commissioner of Police in Nagpur and Mumbai, Superintendent of Police in Solapur and Aurangabad (Rural), and Commissioner of Police in Amravati.
Concurrently, Retesh Kumaarr, the outgoing Pune CP, assumes the role of Director General of Police & Commandant General Home Guards in Maharashtra.
The reshuffle also sees Ankit Goyal transferred to Gadchiroli as Pune’s new Superintendent of Police, while Pankaj Deshmukh takes charge as Pune Rural SP.
