November saw a 55% increase in the amount of coal dispatched from captive, commercial mines, reaching 12.92 MT compared to 8.36 MT in the same month last year. On Saturday, the government said that November’s coal production from commercial and captive mines increased by 37% to 11.94 million tonnes (MT). In November 2022–2023 the output of coal from commercial, captive mines was 8.74 MT. November saw a 55% increase in the amount of coal dispatched from captive, commercial mines, reaching 12.92 MT compared to 8.36 MT in the same month last year.
Between April and November of last year, the total coal output from commercial, captive mines was around 83.90 MT, while the total coal dispatch was 89.67 MT. These figures represent year-over-year increases of 24% and 31%, respectively, compared to the same period in FY23. The statement also stated that the government is dedicated to reaching the goal coal production and dispatch, which is an essential step in guaranteeing the nation’s energy security and promoting economic growth.
