Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma stunned everyone with his solo guitar performance. Now, businessman Anand Mahindra has invited him to play at the Mahindra Blues Festival in February. Recently, the 45-year-old CM posted a video of himself on social media performing Iron Maiden’s “Wasted Years” on the guitar.
Officials informed PTI that Sangma was doing a reunion performance with his rock band at a cafe in Tura. The reunion was planned for December 26 at Tura’s Roof Top Cafe by the members of the “Saga” band, of which the chief minister (CM) was formerly an active part during their college years in Delhi. Officials added that in an attempt to recreate their college days, the chief minister shouted out various Iron Maiden songs among others.
“Another incredible evening… Iron Maiden on this occasion…” Sangma wrote in his message, which quickly gained popularity.
Soon after, Mahindra invited Sangma via the microblogging platform X, which was then known as Twitter. “Very cool…At the @mahindrablues in February, @SangmaConrad, we need you! ” Mahindra published.
He recently travelled to Shillong to take part in the Vengaboys, Westlife, and Me’gong Festival concerts. Conrad Sangma, who was chosen as Meghalaya’s 12th chief minister in 2018, is serving his second term. He is the son of PA Sangma, the former Speaker of the Lok Sabha and Chief Minister of Meghalaya.
