Amit Shah will visit in Tripura on February 6 and 12 in his first political tour of North Eastern states.

The BJP ruled state is scheduled to vote for its 60 member assembly on February 16, as Amit Shah likely to address rallies in Tripura as well as other north eastern states after its assembly polls schedule was announced by the election commission.

Nagaland Meghalaya will go to polls on February 27, the counting of votes for all three states is on March 2.

Amit Shah will also address public meetings in Nagaland and Meghalaya as scheduled is being finalized, sources said.

The North Eastern states may be small in terms of their electoral size but hold larger political importance in our country.

BJP is trying to retain power in Tripura and expand its horizon in two other states, the Congress and left are trying to recapture their lost influence especially in Tripura.
