The All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) Bhubaneswar has declared a half-day holiday on Monday to commemorate the grand ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Shri Ram Lalla at Ayodhya’s historic temple. The ceremony is scheduled for 12:30 p.m., and in adherence to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) Office Memorandum, AIIMS Bhubaneswar will observe a half-day closure until 2:30 p.m. on January 22, 2024. This decision aims to allow employees to actively participate in the nationwide celebrations of the Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha without disrupting essential hospital services.
Similarly, AIIMS and Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in New Delhi also announced a half-day closure of offices and institutions on the same date. However, critical clinical services will continue to operate without interruption.
The sanctum sanctorum of the Ayodhya temple received the idol of Lord Ram on Friday, sculpted by Mysuru-based artist Arun Yogiraj. The intricately carved idol, standing 51 inches tall and weighing 1.5 tonnes, depicts Lord Ram as a five-year-old child standing on a lotus, crafted from the same stone.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to perform rituals during the ‘Pran Pratishtha,’ with a team of priests led by Lakshmikant Dixit overseeing the main rituals. The ceremony has attracted various celebrities and notable personalities who have been invited to partake in the auspicious event. The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony on January 22 holds great significance as it marks a momentous occasion in the history of the Ayodhya temple.
