In the Gwalior area of Madhya Pradesh, three men gangraped a fifteen-year-old girl at gunpoint in front of her parents.
The event happened on Monday night in the Bhanwarpur area, but a complaint wasn’t made until Wednesday.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rishikesh Meena said that two days later, out of the three suspects, one had been taken into custody by the police.
Another senior police official commented that, “On Monday night, an incident occurred with a minor girl and her family in a village under Bhanwarpur police station limits in the district in which the minor was gang raped and her parents were assaulted.”
It was only one month ago that the girl’s family moved into the area.
Sections 323, 376, 376d, 458, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act have been used by the police in their prosecution of the three accused, based on the complaint that the victim’s parents filed.
In this regard, the Police have opened an investigation.Police said on Wednesday that a 10-year-old girl who lives in an orphanage was allegedly raped in Cuttack, Odisha, on her way home from school in a similar occurrence. The incident happened on Monday afternoon in the College Square neighbourhood close to the Cuttack train station.
Currently, she is receiving care at the Railway SP Biranchi Prasad Dehury SCB Medical College and Hospital. Due to her father’s incarceration, she has been living in the orphanage since her mother died.
