Swara Bhaskar’s X Account Permanently Suspended Over Alleged Copyright Violation

Actress Calls Decision “Ridiculous and Untenable”

Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar has landed in yet another social media controversy after her X (formerly Twitter) account was permanently suspended. The actress took to Instagram to announce the suspension, calling the decision “ridiculous and untenable.”

According to Bhaskar, her account was suspended due to alleged copyright violations concerning two specific images she posted:

  1. A protest slogan in Hindi: “Gandhi, we are ashamed; your killers are still alive.”
  2. A photo of her child waving the Indian flag on Republic Day, with the child’s face obscured.

The actress questioned how these could be copyright violations, hinting at possible mass reporting as the reason behind the action. She labeled it an attempt to silence her voice and called on X to reconsider its decision.

“If these tweets have been mass reported, it is an effort to harass me and suppress my freedom of speech,” Bhaskar wrote in her Instagram post. She has been known for her outspoken political views, which have often made her a target of online trolling and backlash.

As of now, X has not issued an official statement on the suspension. However, Bhaskar’s supporters have started questioning the platform’s moderation policies, while critics have pointed to her history of controversial posts.

This isn’t the first time Swara Bhaskar has found herself in the midst of a social media storm, and it certainly won’t be the last.
