Ramesh Bais will be the new governor of Maharashtra.

President droupadi murmu accepted the resignation of Bhagat Singh koshiyari on February 12 and Ramesh Bais will be the new governor of Maharashtra.

According to the Rashtrapati Bhavan communique Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais will now move to Maharashtra.

In January koshiyari Expressed Desire tour resigned from the post after a long controversy of his comment on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Chhattisgarh native , Mr Bais was started his Political career as a councillor of Raipur municipal corporation and was later elected as a Parliament member of Madhya Pradesh assembly in 1980. He was also the former BJP vice president of the parties MP unit. He had also served as the President of archery Olympic Association.

He had earlier served as the Union Minister of state for steel and mines, Chemicals and fertilizers, information and broadcasting and Environment and Forest.

As the 10th Governor he served the Jharkhand succeeding Draupadi murmu. Now he took oath of Maharashtra Governor.
