Gopalganj: According to the police, a priest was shot dead and had his eyeballs gouged out in the Gopalganj district of Bihar yesterday.
Authorities reported that his body was found late last night in the bushes and that he also had injuries on his private areas. Manoj Kumar, 32, hasn’t been seen since Monday night. At around midnight, he was last observed departing the Shiva temple located in Danapur hamlet. Ashok, the brother of Manoj Kumar, used to be a BJP employee.
Conflicts broke out in the community shortly after his death was discovered, with some blaming the police of being careless. Following a demonstration by the villagers on the national highway and stone-throwing at the police, two police officers were hurt in the altercation. Additionally, a police car was set on fire. Police began a search for Manoj Kumar on Tuesday after receiving a missing person’s report from his family.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer Pranjal of Gopalganj claimed that sufficient police had been summoned in to avert any untoward incidents and that the situation in the area was now under control. He said that an investigation has been opened and that the suspects are being sought out.
