India bloc on losing half of its Rajya Sabha members: “Opposition-mukt Parliament, Bloodbath”

Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, declared that all democratic standards had been discarded.

The suspension of 78 MPs meant that the INDIA group, a coalition of opposition parties opposing the ruling BJP, would be reduced to half its strength in the Rajya Sabha and one-third in the Lok Sabha for the duration of the Winter Session of the Parliament. Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, called the move against opposition MPs a “mockery of democracy” as she was in the nation’s capital attending an alliance conference.

In the Rajya Sabha, the allies had 95 MPs; 45 of them were suspended on Monday. Since AAP Sanjay Singh is incarcerated, he was previously suspended. Derek O’Brien, a TMC MP, was suspended on Friday. The alliance comprises 133 MPs in the Lok Sabha overall, of which 46 (33 today) were suspended throughout the past several days. The Congress, TMC, DMK, and JDU are the parties whose MPs are suspended.

Their demonstration in the Parliament, calling for a reply from Amit Shah, the home minister, regarding the security breach in the Lok Sabha, sparked the action. Due to their disruptive actions, banners they displayed, and chants they raised in the Lok and Rajya Sabha, they were suspended.”What made so many MPs suspended? Banerjee attacked the BJP, which defeated the Congress to win the most recent assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. “Do you think they won two states so they became so arrogant?” Banerjee asked.

Sougata Ray, a TMC MP, was one of them suspended. “One of the nation’s leading leaders is Sougata Ray, the Lok Sabha MP for the TMC. He is one of the people on suspension. Everyone has a suspension in place, For whatever reason, they have the right to suspend one or two MPs. “The House should be suspended if they suspend people collectively,” the speaker declared. The BJP, she said, is scared.”They feel fear. The people’s voice has been completely silenced and muffled. Permit them to put the House on hold. They are morally ineligible to lead the House. They will control the House and completely suspend or expel the opposition. Democracy is being mocked here, the woman declared.

Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, declared that all democratic standards had been discarded. “With an opposition-less Parliament, the Modi government can now bulldoze important pending legislations, crush any dissent, without any debate,” Kharge stated.

There was a carnage in the Rajya Sabha today, according to Congress MP Jairam Ramesh.

“Incidentally, I too figure in this Roll of Honour – for the first time in my parliamentary career of 19 years,” he stated, before stating that “this is Murder of Democracy in India (MODI) at work!” .”Tanashahi ka Doosra Naam ModiShahi hai- democracy has been suspended!” stated Ramesh in a different post. Manoj Jha, an RJD MP, criticised the government and declared that the suspension was a medal of honour. “Congratulations to Modi ji on an opposition-mukt Parliament,” Jha concluded.

The BJP-led central government, according to JD(U) MP Kaushalendra Kumar, is attempting to suspend as many MPs as possible in order to pass more bills.
