Jitendra Awhad of the NCP faces another FIR for his divisive comments against Lord Ram.

Jitendra Awhad, a member of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), is the subject of another First Information Report (FIR) in Mumbai due to his divisive remarks regarding Lord Ram. Ram Kadam, a BJP MLA, has filed the complaint.

The source states that a First source Report (FIR) under IPC Section 295A has been filed against the NCP MLA at the Ghatkopar Police Station in Mumbai. According to authorities, Awhad was also charged with violating Section 295(A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) earlier today at the MIDC police station in Mumbai for claiming that Lord Ram was not a vegetarian.

On Wednesday, Jitendra Awhad asserted that, in contrast to popular belief, Lord Ram was not a vegetarian and was a member of the “Bahujans,” or people in majority. “We own Lord Ram. He is a Bahujan. We are the Bahujans; we own Lord Ram, who hunts and consumes (meat). We are misrepresented by some as vegetarians. However, we eat mutton today because we uphold the principles of Lord Ram. Speaking at a Shirdi event on Wednesday, Awhad stated, “This is in keeping with the ideals of Lord Ram.”

“Ram was not a vegetarian, he was non-vegetarian,” he continued. In an attempt to justify his statement, Jitendra Awhad cited an IIT Kanpur study article on the Valmiki Ramayana. But he also begged for pardon from the populace, expressing sorry for his words if they offended anyone.During a news conference in Mumbai, Awhad cited the comprehensive study done on this Ramayana rendition by IIT Kanpur. “Look, I’m telling you—I didn’t add my own perspective or interpretation to it. I didn’t add any of my own concepts. In defiance of a barrage of criticism from the BJP and the nation’s seer community, the NCP leader vehemently maintained his position, saying, “I based my opinion on whatever is written in Valmiki Ramayana.”
